I'm having the EXACT same problem. Old Razr died and new one won't connect to P2K seem. Connected one time and made seem edits but MP3's refuse to work. Denied by phone, unsupported format. Pulling hair out, please help.

FYI if you folks have a newer Razr from VZW with there newest firmware ( ie 01.19.07 ) you might as well give up trying to use MPT it will not work what so ever. What ever they did to the newest firmware has completely locked you out of using MPT even after doing the seem edits.

As for the p2kseem issue do you folks have PST or MSU running in the back round prior to firing up p2kseem to read the seem file? If not that is more then likely the issue. P2kseem will not work if you don't have the phone suspend which is what PST or MSU will do for you.

If one got screwed with the new firmware can you just flash backwards to a previous version?
Like back to 01.19.02 and get back the ability to transfer ring tones? Old razr died and I bought the v3m from Verzion with out knowing it was crippled.

Crap!! I've been reading all these posts about seem editing for nothing!! I got a V3m for VZW on sunday and was excited about playing around with the phone. I guess I should have bought a used phone off eBay instead of a new one!!

^^^Just use MSU along with p2kcommander to transfer the ring tones. The tones need to be in the /motorola/shard/ringtone folder. Once you put them there go back to the root directory and find the mytone.db file and delete it. Unplug the phone cycle the power and you should be good to go.

Dsy; you could do that but there have been mixed remarks on whether or not the older firmware will take once it has the newer on it. I have one buddy who was able to do it who's really happy now that I went one set farther and flashed his to Vivo, but I've also got 2 other friends who tried it and it bricked there phones trying to put the older firmware back on it so they could go to Vivo down the road. So unless you want to risk it it's a tough call.

Yea I'm not very happy I can not do any type of seem edits on this new firmware. Hopefully it wont be too long before someone figures out what they did and how to defeat it

What trouble are you having with seem edits? Reason I ask is my one buddy who did flash away from this firmware was able to do seem edits prior to flashing.

Are you suing the most recent drivers Moto has out ( ie 3.3.0) if not you may want to try updating MSU if you aren't up to date, and then update the drives while you are at it. I know Moto just released the newer ones less then a month ago.

Yep all the lastest drivers right from the developer site. Am able to do seem edits ok. They just dont have any affect. I had done some and every thing went as it should but afterwards everything was the same. I thought I must have spaced and not saved them to the phone so went back in and re-read the seems and they were saved like I set them to be. I think some how they changed the firmware to ignore changes from stock. I think I will just wait to see what others can come up with.

I see. I haven't had to deal with any edits myself on the newer firmware so I don't really know myself. I choose to flash all my VZW phone to the leaked Moto firmwares. I can't stand the awful ( IMO) VZW UI.
