Hi, I am new to modding these (I've only had the phone for a week) but would like to install some themes / skins. To start I would like to just install a theme to change the basic look, then later try to change the boot/exit animation. It seems there is a lot of info for verizon phones but little for U.S. Cellular. I have tried using p2k Commander with MSU running in the background but p2k consistently crashes when trying to explore the folders. I have tried several versions and many drivers. BitPim works flawlessly (i think) but I do not know where to get Razr V3m compatible themes (all I find are .bar (verizon?)) and I do not know how to install them. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Steve |

FYI, yes *.bar files are for the VZW version of the Razr's. Being VZW uses there own custom UI changing the look is completely different. As a side not you can not use BitPim to add skins to your phone. when using the filesystem part of the software in BitPim you don't get the option to add files, you can only save, delete, and overwrite them. That being said the only way you can install a new SKIN ( not a theme) is by using MSU or PST along with p2kcommander. Here is a link for you to look over on adding skins to your USCC Razr Motorola V3c Tutorial: Flashing to Alltel User Interface - HowardForums Wiki. Go down to the section labeled " Get a custom look with skins " it give you all the details and at least one link to a site where you can get some custom skins. One other thought also so you don't get messed up what ever you do make sure any skin you get is for the CDMA razr's. Skins for the GSM model will not work right because they have a different keypad layout, and use a different font size. You can use them but the skin itself needs to be fixed prior to trying to use it on the phone tho. Also so there is no confusion it is the same process for you as adding a skin to an Alltel Razr do to the fact both companies use the standard Moto user interface along with skins. One other quick not themes are for a VZW Razr and skins are for use on Alltel,USCC,Vivo...etc so try not to get them confused. |
