Need help have V3a can't connect to computer

I have a motorola V3a and have tried numerous times to connect to my Motorola Phone Tools Program but it doesn't work with my phone. All I am wanting to do is transfer ringtones and customize them. Please give me a hand.

Have you set your phone connection properly? This is what works for me.

1. Menu
2. Settings
3. Connection
4. USB Settings
5. Modem/Com

That still won't work. On my phone I go into menu, settings, connection, and it is a choice of bluetooth link or incoming call. There is no USB setting at all.

What drivers do you have installed on your comp?

When you plug you phone into your comp with no programs running how is the phone being listed/showing in device manager? Should be under modems as a Moto USB modme if it isn't you need to work on that ( ie drivers) before even trying to deal with MPT.

Does any part of MPT work with your phone? Or is it just the MMS part not working for transfering ring tones, pica, and videos.

What version of MPT are you currently running? Plz don't say 4, there is at least 4 different versions of 4.+ to choose from. The most recent is 4.56a that I can say for sure. Also I know in the detect.ini file for 4.56a it does list the v3a as a phone to select also.
