Whenever I try to transfer a ringtone through MPT it says "Request Denied by Phone (Forbidden (0x43))" I have no idea why, it has worked for me fine before. I also tried transferring the file with P2kcommander (w/ MSU in the background) but the file doesnt show up on the phone and bitpim but it says that saving files to the phone is blocked by the provider. I have a verizon v3m razr flashed to alltel.

FYI the msg you get from BitPim is because BitPim does not natively support the v3m. as for using p2kcommander can you see the file on the phone via p2kcommander or BitPim. If it is on the phone while viewing the filesystem in either program then us p2kcommander and go to the root directory of the phone and delete the " mytone.db" file. Then unplug the phone and cycle the power. Once the phone is back up you should now see the tones you added. Keep in mind once the phone has been power cycled after deleting that file if you go back and look the file will be back on the phone, this is normal so don't freak out about it. The file you deleted is the index file so every time you add one using p2kcommander you need to delete that so the phone rebuild the index and shows the file you just added. Now the one issue with it is every time you delete that file all your ringtones will get reset so you have to go back in and reset them all for each caller of whatever you had set prior to deleting the mytone.db file which is why I prefer to use MPT. You never have to do that. As to why MPT is not working anymore what version are you using? Have you had the firmware on your phone updated recently? Could be a lot of things to be honest. the more details we have the better. |

| Not so, it's for all moto phones when using p2kcommander. I personally own a v3c & v3m both flashed to Alltel, a Maxx Ve, k1m, v9m, and also a Slvr all on VZW and it works the same for each one of them when putting ring tones on via p2kcommander, doesn;t matter which firmware either. Quote:
If you ran MSU and it did update it, what version firmware is now on the phone? As for MPT if it is truly in fact version 3 that could be part of the issue. If memory serves me the v3m did not have support in MPT until version 4.04, and then anything after that. I do know the newest release is MPT 4.5.6a tho. | |
