I have now reinstalled the driver in my PC allowing me to synch from Windows Media Player 10 to my Razr again. But I am no longer able to download the music as a ringtone, like I could do when I first purchased the phone several months ago. Nothing has changed with my wireless service. Does anyone know how to get this feature back? Thanks.

FYI info you can't use WMP to get ring tones on the phone for VZW ( I have them myself and it doesn't work). When you use WMP to sync it transfers the music to the phone as a WMA file which can not be used for a ring tone. Ring tones must reside on the phones physical memory and Ring tones support E815/V3C/V3M=General Midi (polyphonic), iMelody (monophonic), MP3 files and Yamaha SMAF format .MMF files So the bottom line is if you were able to do it before you were lucky I would say. You best bet to get ring tones on your phone is to use MPT (ie motorola phone tools) or you can use p2kcommander. The thing is you'll need to hack the phone so you have USB support because VZW diables/blocks that on the phone becasue they want you to buy them. If you'd like to do some research on hacking and doing this stuff a great place to start is here RAZR, V3C, V3M, E815 Motorola/LG Mobile Phone Help Pages by Mark Venture - V3C 1 Don't worry bout the fact this link says v3c all the hacks and stuff for the v3c and v3m for VZW are the same. Any issues drop back and I'll do what I can to point you in the right direction. I've had plenty of experience with these phones being I own a v3c,v3m,slvr,k1m,maxx ve, and the new v9m all from VZW and everyone is hack to one degree or another. Heck most of them are not evening running the VZW user interface anymore I have them flashed to another carriers OS and they are fully unlocked to do with them as I wish.

Thanks for your help on this. I'm not super-sophisticated with computer stuff so not sure I want to try the hack approach if it goes beyond a few simple steps. But I'll give that a shot. One more question based on your reply above - can I synch an mp3 file through WMP, if I can convert a WMA file to mp3?

It's been a long time since I've messed with WMP but if memory serves me WMP will automatically convert it right back to a WMA even if you convert first. Reason being is once the sync function sees the phone as a v3m it knows that the file needs to be wma to work on it. That is one of the main reasons I have my Razr's flash. The other carriers firmware allows mp3 for music also, and being I have over 5000+ songs on my home network all in mp3 format it was a pain dealing with it. Plus I don't sync with WMP anymore I just used my phone paired with my BT dongle and move stuff back and forth wireless so no cable or software is needed.
