Alright, I went out and bought the bluetooth for the computer so that I can make ringtones. When I got it I was all excited. I made the ringtone and paired the computer to the phone. I could see all the files on my phone and went to transfer the song I made to my phone like I was told and an ERROR box popped up telling me that there is a invalid FTP request.

Now i don't know what to do!!! What am I doing wrong!!

I've tried everything I could think off. Any help would be wonderful and greatly appreciated!!

What model Razr do you have, and what is your carrier? If its a Verizon or Sprint model then it won't work without hacking the phone.

My phone is Motorola V3 RAZR and I have at&t.

Ok, you have ATT, it should work. ATT still had several models of the V3 out. Is it the original V3, V3i, V3r, or V3xx? Also what software are you using to transfer the ringtone? I recommend the latest version of Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools (MPT). There are other software packages to do it, but that software is the easiest to use for beginners.

My phone is the original V3 I was transferring through the bluetooth I clicked on the bluetooth icon and went to transfer. Then I would find the folder with my phones name on it with the arrows showing that I can take and add files. Then I was told all I needed to do was take the file I wanted and drag and drop in the folder. When I did that it would send the pop up of invalid FTP. The program that I was told to use to make the ringtone is Audacity.

I also tried sending it a different way. By right clicking on the ringtone and then selecting sent to bluetooth device. The first screen that pops up and you click to search for device. I do that but it doesn't find my phone. What’s up with that?? When I know is has connected. So this way failed also.

The original V3 does not support drag & drop. You must use a transfer program like MPT to move the file from a computer to the phone.

Agreed, MPT is the easiest to use for ringtones.

Okay I downloaded the MPT program and sent it to my phone but when I went to play the ring it popped up a message saying file has unidentifiable information. Now what do I need to do??

Just when I thought it was all good and going to be wonderful something else had to pop up.

The file must be in *.mp3 format, 30 seconds or less. Also, how large is the file?

I've been having the same problem. I can transfer the ringtone to my phone( Moto V3) with MPT, but when I try to play it, it says that the file contains unidentifiable information. It is in mp3 format and is only 20 sec long. Does anyone know what to do? Please help!
