I picked up my V3M yesterday, and immediately got to work trying to figure out how to put tones on it. I had a V3C a while back, so I figured it'd be the same process, more or less. I've got the Motorola Driver Installer utility installed, so the phone can connect and draw power from the computer via my USB cable. I've tried to use two programs to upload music/pictures to my phone: BitPim - I read the other thread, the one started back in november 2006 about this. I've installed bitpim, gone into settings and set the Phone Type to V3CM, and the comm port to COM4, and I always plug it in the same usb slot. Whenever I try and upload to the phone, I get one of three errors, and every time my phone happily chirps at me. Moto-V3cm on COM4: The phone is not responding while manipulating the filesystem. An exception screen pops up. (Attached to the post in .jpg form) I got it to work once out of sheer luck, and managed to upload one 30 second file. Then a friend wanted it, I copied it off of my phone to them via bluetooth, and now it won't work anymore at all. I also have the latest version of MPT, but that won't automatically detect my phone, and when I scroll through the list of phones that you can manually set it to, there's no V3M option at all within the CDMA tree that it belongs to, so I usually try CDMA Generic. When I pick that, it opens it up, but I don't have Transmission or Reception, or the ability to open up the multimedia studio. I've always had horrible luck with this, I used to have a MotoRAZR V3c, and had the same problems. (And I only have one of these programs open at a time.) Any ideas? Edit: And now it won't even let me use an audible ringtone. Only vibrate works. Edit2: Heh, performed a master clear of the phone's data, and reset it back to factory conditions. Now the ringtones work. |
