Yes, there is such a thing. Verizons razrs are 3g phones. To answer the question, Motorola Phone Tools needs to be updated to AT LEAST version 4.21a. Plus u will need to seem edit your phone to make it sync with MPT: http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/ra...work-razr.html (Motorola Phone Tools doesn't work with RAZR V3m?) Posts 21-44

Cingular lists my phone as the V3xx and it's not listed or detected by MPT. Do the steps above still apply?

They MIGHT, but the steps are described for a CDMA razr, not a GSM razr. Perhaps direct your question to the GSM sticky: http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/ra...3-v3i-v3x.html

I also have the Cingular V3xx Razr (aka Izar) so yes, it does exist. I'm using MPT 4.3.6.c, and it works seamlessly. Much better than my original MPT 3.x.x and the original Razr. The weird/tricky part is you have to update MPT one version at a time: ie, plug your phone into the computer, start MPT (which won't recognize your V3xx), update MPT, close MPT, restart MPT, and update once again. Keep doing this. Eventually a version will be installed which recognizes the V3xx, complete with a correct avatar of the phone. Keep looping through this update process until you get to the current version (which is 4.3.6; I just checked.) I think I had to loop through about 6 upgrades to get to the end.

Only thing I could recommend (I ran into this problem myself with a CDMA RAZR) is to go into Device Manager. (Right click My Computer - click Manage - Then click Device Manager on the left) and find the driver for the USB Device you have attached. Then right click it and uninstall it and restart your computer without the device plugged in. It should re recognize it and install it correctly. Then MPT should be able to recognize the Device |

It's not recognizing the phone driver. Maybe you can try uninstalling it and re installing it( If you haven't done so yet)

I explained it up there. But I'll repeat it Click Start - Right Click My Computer - Click Manage - then click Device Manager on the left side in the new window Then you check the Categories in there and try to find the device that is sticking out. It's probably going to be in the USB (Universal Serial bus) Section. It might also install as a Motorola USB Modem. Select the device and Right Click and click Uninstall You will need to reboot your computer but first unplug the Phone from the computer. When Windows boots back up you wait till everything loads then Re-attach the USB and the phone to the computer. If it recognizes. Check the Device Manager again to make sure it's being seen. Run MPT again and it should recognize and set it up. You may need to set it to V3xx manually but it should recognize. I hope this helps. |
