Hello all, I have just purchased 2 Moto V3m cellphones (for wife and I). I have Motorola Phone Tools 4.xx version and have been successful transferring data via bluetooth to my phone. However, when I attempt to connect my wife's phone, I get an error which says the installation of th COMM port failed. Has anyone else seen this before? I am assuming the software can be used with more than one phone. I was intending to use the USB cable until I discovered that it is different for this phone. On my previous 2 Moto phones I had the same cable. Can anyone offer assistance. I would like to be able to only sync up contacts, not interested in music and dates and etc. |

Comm Port failed is an error you get when the bluetooth dongle on your computer has been paired with another phone, or you are trying to use the same profile for two different phones. - Try creating a new profile for your wife's phone. (you will probably get the same error while it is trying to connect) - If the aove is true, open up the bluetooth places icon, and remove the pairing from your phone (even if it isnt paired currently). Then go into Device Manager and make sure you dont have a bluetooth modem installed. If it is, remove that as well. Lastly, go into bluetooth on your wifes phone, and check history, and remove any pairing it may have had with the comp already. Then proceed with a new profile again. - If THAT still doesnt work, read here for some more in depth information regarding bluetooth and MPT -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/V710_BT_ALT.htm Just for the record, you can enable the MultiMedia option of MPT version 4.21a or 4.36 with your v3m, so u can transfer pics, vids, and ringtones.
