I have Verizon V3m with a Kingston 1GB MicroSD card 1. Do the songs have to be wmas in order for the phone to read it if I put it on the card (Im not interested in making them ringtones)? If so, what program do you recommend to convert mp3 to wma? 2. The music goes into the "my_music" folder rite? 3. Do I have to get USB headphones or can I use my own headphones (I strictly want them to listen to music)? 4. How do you get the phone to take pictures directly to the card? 5. Where can I get skins? |

1. Yes, music must be in wma format. Windows Media Player will automatically convert non-protected mp3 songs for you. Or, you can use a program such as Audacity. Just google for a free one... 2. Yes, the music goes in the 'my_music' folder. If you successfully sync with WMP10, it will access the correct folder automatically. I have never tried just dropping wma files straight onto the card. I have heard mixed reviews as to whether that works or not. 3. You can buy an adapter that plugs into the usb port, and then use your own headphones. Just make sure that the adapter is a STEREO adapter. The one that comes with the phone is both the wrong size (3/32") and it is MONOAURAL. I recommend the Moto usb headphones, I think they are decent enough quality. 4. I cant remember exactly if it is possible or not. I know u can have the videos recorded straight to the card. If u can with pics, I would imagine when u have the camera open, go into Options and look for storage destination, or something close to that. 5. You cannot use skins with the Verizon v3m. You can only use the themes. Skins are liek what I have posted in this post -> http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/440071-post11.html But I am running Alltel's firmware which DOES allow this. You can mod your themes, but it is not a huge gain -> http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php?page=Skin

As long as you format your card in the phone so it puts the proper 'my_music' folder on it, im sure if u pop it into a card reader, u can sync to it that way with WMP. However, if u can get ur phone to sync with the card in it, you might as well do it that way so u dont have to keep taking it out and putting it back in. As for the flash, the memory card DOES work. It used to not work b/c all we had was a v3c flash. But since Alltel's v3m was released, we have gotten out hands on the v3m firmware, which uses the memory card much like ours does. There are plenty of threads in here that talk about this.

I have the Razr V3m, and cannot get my songs from PC to synch to it. Verizon says it is because I have WMP version 11, and I need to go back to version 10. I thought that the Verizon CD with V-Cast music was suppose to do that! My driver is good, PC recognizes the Motorola modem, but WMP does not recognize the phone when it is plugged in. Assuming they are right, and I do not want to step down to version 10, how do I get my solgs to play on the phone? Do I convert the MP3 to something else?
