Question USCC RAZR V3m Video Record Length...

Ya, anyways this is my 3rd question on this thread and I thank you all in advance for your fast responses. Ok so....I go to video camera on my phone and click video length maxmimum, but it just sets a 15 sec. limit just like the (MMS Long) setting. So my question is how do I take that limit off? Like set it so it records until I run out of memory?

Thx again

Well, there is a way to do it on the Verizon V3M. BUT, you can't on the Alltel V3C (thats technically what im using and it doesnt work), so let's hope that the USCC V3M is similar to the Verizon V3M in this manner. If we can, there are 2 ways. One of them is BitPim, so unless we can solve your BitPim connection problem, we need to use another method. This other method requires MSU (motorola software updater) & P2Kcommander (to browse the phone's file system). The file we are lookign for is called arcconfig.ini . It is located in the a/brew/mod/arcmedia/arconfig.ini (see attached screen shot for file location is BitPim and/or P2Kcommander).

Arcconfig.ini in BitPim

Arcconfig.ini in P2Kcommander

Once you get to the file, save it to your computer. The next screen shot shows what it looks like in NotePad. You can edit the VidDuration value (highlighted in pic) Once u change it, save it back to the phone by overwriting the orignal on the phone with this one. Again, this may not work on the Alltel and USCC razr's, but it will not hurt to try. As you can see, I have it changed on mine.

Let me know if u have any questions, or if it works, etc.

See how easy BitPim was SUPPOSED to be Anyways, yea, you may not have this file on your phone. I HAD Verizon, but flashed to Alltel. So the reason I might still have that file is b/c the flash doesnt remove some of the older files, it just updates the OS. That is probably why even tho I have the file, changing it doesnt affect anything. I would say keep browsing, but I dont think we are going to find too much...

Hi . I have the new V3m From Uscc and i have unlimited Video recording when using the micro transflash as the storage . I bought a 2 gig micro sd and it works perfectly . I have several 30 min videos on it with room to spare .Also i was told after i put the 2 gig in that it would only work up to 1 gig . not true on mine . it formated it fine and i have many Mp3s on it even though it dosnt support a "Music" player they play fine ..Very Cool . Also i Put a skin from moto modders on it called neon by just adding another sub directory called neon and copied all the files to it then rebooted and wala !!! Also ther is no accconfig on Uscc filesystem to modify . Just add a transflash card and you will have unlimited video without modding
