Default Turn off Low Battery Alert? RAZR v3m

Anyone figure out how to turn off that annoying low battery beep? (Don't say charge before getting a low battery..)

I've tried setting reminders to off or vibrate but that doesn't seem to do anything. If my phone is in loud, soft, or vibrate then ring ring style, it beeps every 5 minutes or so. If it is in vibrate, it vibrates every 5 minutes (even further killing the battery.)

I've gotten all the regular stuff to work (seems,MPT,etc.) but haven't seen anyway to modify this... And this beeping is driving me crazy!!

Thanks!

I really don't know of any mods to disable that. My V3 dies about 2 minutes after the beep, so I don't think you would really gain much by disabling it.

Hey guys,
my V3 lasts the whole day (atleast about 6 hours) with that extremely annoying "Low Battery" beep every 5 or so minutes. I would have ALOT to gain in disabling it... like my sanity

If anyone can help it will much appreciated
Thanks

After some digging, it seems that one (the only?) way to get rid of this low battery alarm is to flash to the alltel firmware. However, this is one mod that I'm not quite comfortable making since it seems the alltel mod is still a bit buggy....
alas. my sanity will have to wait.

I flashed my v3m to Alltel and have noticed no such bugs. Id be interested to hear what bugs they have. If there are, they must be minor. And that being said, I find FAR MORE advantages to Alltel vs Verizon. But that just might be me

This also drives me crazy. My phone will beep every 5 minutes for 24 hours and the noise can't be disabled (although I can change the sound it makes when I get an incoming fax!) The software on the Verizon RAZR is so bad the phone is almost unusable. I'm going to give mine up as soon as my contract is up. I was warned before I got one but I figured the phone has been around so long that surely they must have fixed these problems by now. That's not the case.
Yes, you can flash it but then you can't *228 to update.

24 hours? Why not just plug the phone in? I find it hard to believe that you are without access to a vehicle or AC charger for 24 hours. Just do what I do. I plug my phone in every night. I talk a lot on my phone, usually 1,100 - 1,600 minutes/month AND I use my phone as a wireless bluetooth modem daily. I rarely ever hear the low battery alert (but when I do it usually dies within a few minutes). Are you trying to get the phone to operate a week between charges?

Yea I 2nd this notion. Just plug the damn thing in. Surely in a day u have access to a charger, usb cable, something. And IF you are trying to strecth the battery life, just flash to Alltel. My battery lasts sooooo much longer. The phone doesnt even have a chance to get to law battery b/c it last for 4 days, and at some pt in there i have plugged my phone into my comp. Even if it did reach that point, you dont get that low wanring with the Alltel f/w. The UI is so much better, makes me wonder why I had waited so long. I guess it was b/c i was losing the tf slot, but I have since long forgotten about it.

I generally like to run the battery all the way down before recharging. I realize we've progressed from the days to NiCad's but I do think the newer batteries still suffer some memory effect. Plus I just find it very annoying that I can't shut the phone up without completely silencing it.
The other thing that can be annoying is even if the phone is on vibrate, it will make noise every 5 minutes, when plugged in if you miss a cal or get a SMS. So if this happens in the middle of teh night one has to get up up and address it.
I should probably bite the bullet and do the alltel flash.

It really isn't needed to run the batteries down all the way anymore. My V551 is 3 years old, and I have always charged it every night whether it was needed or not. The battery still has yet to show any signs of deteriorating. My A845 is almost 4 years old and I don't have any issues with that battery either. I agree this was a problem with older phones, but with the heavy usage I put my phones through I cannot risk the phone not lasting a full day, so I charge nightly, and have had no ill effects.
