| I have Cingular service and just upgraded to the Razr v3r. The motorola phone tools are kickin my butt. I cant even get past the phone setup screen. I launch MPT program, I get to the phone setup wizard, then I plug the cord into the phone then the other end of the cord to the computer. Thats it, it doesn't do anything else. No error screen or progress of any kind. Can someone help me? Thanks |

| As jay said, update to 4.36. If it supports your phone, it will have the correct drivers.

| I actually have a v3m, and I've read all about how to get ringtones and whatnot setup for it. But a buddy of mine is wondering how he could get his v3 setup to get his own ringtones. Again, he has a V3 and is with T-Mobil. Is it as simple as getting MPT setup on his computer? Or does T-mobil's v3's also need some sort of seem editing? Can't quite find a straight answer using the search function. |

| After spending most of the day on the phone with the folks at Motorola, I am my wits end ... I have seen all of the help you have offered to others. I only hope I am so lucky. I have a V3 with service from Cingular (and an AT&T Wireless card inside) and I cannot for the life of me get MPT to work. The Motorola USB modem shows up in device manager and it will charge when plugged in to the back of the comp. However, it always stops after "Your phone is being installed ..." and goes to the "Can not detect your phone" error message. The people at Motorola had me going in circles and I have for case IDs than I know what to do with. Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it. |

| I've tried that. I've tried every variation of that: phone plugged in and launch tools; launch tools then plug phone in; launch tools then plug phone and then plug in USB to back of comp; etc ... Still no go. |

I'm still trying to figure out just what the heck I did, but I seem to have USB connectivity and the sync function in both USB and Bluetooth is back (until such time I see smoke coming out of either my phone or computer....we'll see I'm not sure if all the steps I took are necessary, but here's what I did: 1. Download and install the new drivertool from BVRP forums: http://www.bvrpforums.com/motorola/viewtopic.php?t=2934 (This is the company that makes MPT) 2. This post on the BVRP forum was helpful in my situation: http://www.bvrpforums.com/motorola/viewtopic.php?t=31 Item #4- opened up MPT, go to Menus -> General Setup and it prompted me to pick which Motorola modem to install. I picked "Motorola USB Modem" and installed it on the COM ports when asked. And that "Please wait....Initializing" message I was getting and "Mobile Not Connected" warning ballooon have since resolved. For now, at least. I'm going to play around with it again both via USB and Bluetooth to be sure I've got a more robust connection. Ain't modern tech great. Hmmmph. And to think there was a time when I did my job just fine without a cell phone. | |

| Are you saying that you are going to try and charge people for a ringtone? I bet that in 5 minutes, I could have my own copy of Moonlight Haze, in mp3 format, on my phone, for FREE.

| I just got an unlocked Razr V3 and I use it with my current Cingular service. My problem is that when I go to check my voicemail I can't delete or save messages while using this new phone. It seems that it will not accept any new key presses after I have dialed. I also tried to see if I could get the phone to work with anything else that would use key presses after dialing and it was a no go. Is there any way that I could modify the phone or change a setting to get it register key presses after I have dialed a number? When I press a number I get an Entering: with the options to Delete or Store. If you would need to know any other information about this phone I will try to provide it. Thanks for any help. |

| Hi i have a new razr v3, so what is the monster pack and what is the advantage of installing it? and also i read about unbranding ? what will that do for me? thanks |

| In Use Now: HTC Tilt | A MonsterPack (MP) is the combination of firmware (The phone's OS) and a flex (The phone's custom settings for your carrier) Generally you won't need to install a MP unless you've severely screwed up your phone and you want to reset it back to factory settings. You also need to watch on MP's because they can lock an unlocked phone if you install the wrong one, or |
