Does anyone know for certain whether T-Mobile intends to release the Treo 650 soon? All I can find are rumors. I need a new phone yesterday. My Treo 270 is just about useless. I don't want to settle for a Blackberry, or a Treo model from 2 years ago. I want this year's phone. Do I have to switch over to Cingular to get it, or is T-Mobile going to wise up and give it's existing Treo customer base what we really want?

There are no plans - that I have heard - for TM to carry the 650. The Treo customer base is probably much smaller than the BB customer base, which is almost 600,000. I don't know what T-Mobile's plans are other than that.

You can always go on eBay and get a unlocked 650, or call Palm & see if you can get one unlocked through them. I am baffled with T-Mobile and their PDA/smartphone selection. What they need to do is put the HP PDA/Phone on the consumer side also, put most of the blackberrys on the business side. They also need another XDA device and the Treo 650, the 600 don't cut it any more IMHO. The business side is where they are selling BB like crazy, so they need to keep them on that side, and give the consumers more variety.

Yeah I don't think T-mobile will have the treo- Their flagship smartphone is the new blackberry... would drive me nuts to have a smartphone w/o touch screen
