Default Will Verizon offer Treo 650 w/o Camera

Does anyone know if Verizonicon will be offering the Treo 650 without a camera (as they did the 600 and the Audiovox XV6600)? I only see one model on thier website at this time - with a camera. I work some government contracts and they do allow camera phones at most locations. So I would like to get a 650 sans camera.

    Thanks in advance.

I have heard that some people have been ordering Treo 650s w/out camera from VZW. They don't advertise it but it may be available by calling Custome Service...

I am thinking they will since a lot of places don't allow cameras (i.e. courthouses) and lawyers are some of the few who make enough to cover the cost of the phone

Thanks for the info. I will give that a try.

My point exactly (i.e. that many places do not allow camera phones). I had not thought of lawyers & courthouses, but could see lawyers as a big PDA/phone user base.

And it is not just government buildings and schools banning them; many companies are as well (for fear of corporate espionage). My company has always had a no cameras on premise policy, although they have not really enforced it with camera phones. I found it funny/ironic that a year or two ago Samsung (obviously a big manufacturer of camera phones) banned them from their offices & factories.

Anyhow, I don't want to turn this into a pro/con camera phone debate. Thanks to you both for the information.

FYI - my post of this question at HowardForums resulted in a reply from a Verizonicon Employee (who tends to be very reliable) stating:

I asked a reliable source today about a [Treo 650] WOC version. They said yes we would get one however it probably wont be for another 2-3 months.
Another forum member then posted the following follow-up:

In the Verizonicon Owner's Manual for the Treo 650, it expressly states in several places that Verizonicon will be carrying Treo 650s with and WITHOUT a camera.
So it looks as if I (and others desiring a camera free model) will just have to wait a few months if WiggyFife suggestion of calling Customer Service does not work.

I would assume they would offer the 650 without a camera since VZWicon just discontinued offering the 600 at all
