The first thing that comes to mind is the Tilt 2 from AT&Ticon. I had the original Tilt and I loved it.

The tilt looks good on paper but it crashes about 4x per day-- many of the apps don't work properly. I would like to smash mine with a hammer.

Are you talking about the Tilt, or the Tilt2? I own a TIlt myself, and its very stable, but then again I ran it without the AT&Ticon Bloatware. I have several friends with the TIlt 2 and they don't have problems either.

I am a wireless consultant and recommend the BlackBerry as the best device for the business professional. I like the new BlackBerry Tour from VZWicon and Sprint or the BlackBerry 9700 from AT&T and T-Mobile. They have the features you are lookng for (although you will have to purchase and download MS Office Suite) and they have a good price point. Another plus is that they are global devices.

I am a new convert to BB, and I highly recommend the 9700.

The limited version of Documents To Go came with my 9700, and for all practical purposes that is adequate for my EXCEL addiction. It allows editing functions but not starting from scratch, the easy work around is to have a blank worksheet that can be filled in and do a "Save As".

UPDATE -

HELLO ALL RESPONDENTS!!!

Thanks ever so much for your crucial responses!

I decided upon another PALM device seeing that I had become
accustomed to the PALM OS. Went with the TREO PRO (850w) (Sprinticon).

Has all the features I listed and is quite stable. Not loving the keyboard that much, nor
the look of it. But I've gotten used to it now. Only issue: darn thing sometimes jerks
to another unrequested program on occasion! Figure that's a signal issue. Also, not happy with the cost, but then who is these days! (after 2 yrs. I'll change carriers, for sure!)

Well, again, thanks to all of you: Mr. Obvious, Charlyee, The Robot Devil, Redstone, and Jay2TheRescue!!!!!!!! AWESOME!

6 month s ago I would have said HTC Touch Pro 2 without hesitation. Now, with Microsoft screwing with Win Mobile, and application development has come to a near stand still I would seriously consider an Android device. The Motorola Back Flip strikes me as a device that business users might like.

Glad you found something you like. The Treo Pro is WM 6.1 and not Palm OS but ofcourse it is still a Palm product.

I had the GSM version of the Treo Pro just prior to my BB and really enjoyed it.

Have fun with your new device.
