Re: Second best carrier in New York City NYC? IMO, having the best phones is just a sales offer, not part of service quality. You can have the best phones in the world, but have a terrible network.
The second best in NYC is a GSM carrier. I'll leave it up to you if you want to take that as being T-Mobile
/Cingular or AWS because they are both so close that it is hard to tell. So I'll declare them a tie. Sprint is very good and will come a close third just because they are dropping many calls lately when you are driving, so you have to be standing still if you don't want to drop calls. That defeats the purpose of a Mobile phone IMO. Also, many calls to Sprint
users go straight to voicemail even if they have their phone on with full signal. Once again, Sprint
seems to be showing some signs of overcongestion in NYC. Just a week ago, my significant other was constantly roaming on Verizon
out in the middle of Greenwich Village where I know Sprint has full service. "Jobs was brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it."

Re: Second best carrier in New York City NYC? I really don't buy that people should choose a service based on how strong their carrier will be in places they don't go every week or two. To be honest with you, every major carrier is fine just about everywhere you will ever go. Some are better in some place, others in different places. But in major urban centers, carriers have really done a great job improving coverage and the gap that once put carriers like ATT (back in the day) and Verizon

Re: Second best carrier in New York City NYC? No carrier in NYC has a network in the subway. Some carriers have strong cell sites near entrances to major stations and the phones will work while in the station.

Re: Second best carrier in New York City NYC? Dude, you have an a310 and an i60. If you want to catch stray undeground signal you need something like a v60 and the new blackbery.
