Moultonborough and Center Harbor, New Hampshire Residents to Benefit from Verizon Wirelessicon Network Expansion
Thursday November 8, 8:15 am ET
Investing to Stay Ahead of Growing Demand for Wireless Voice, Multimedia and Internet Access

MOULTONBOROUGH, N.H., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- In a continuing effort to provide the best wireless service for local residents in Carroll County, Verizon Wirelessicon, operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, has expanded its network with a new cell site. The new site provides new coverage and capacity along Routes 25 and 25B in western Moultonborough and Center Harbor, as well as the surrounding area.

Verizon Wireless invested $145 million during the first six months of the year to enhance wireless capacity and coverage throughout the six states of New England, elevating the cumulative network investment in the region to more than $2 billion since 2000. Nationally the company invests more than $1 billion every 90 days to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless voice and data services, including picture messaging, text messaging, BroadbandAccess high-speed internet and the company's exclusive V CAST service. The company's ongoing network investment now totals more than $40 billion nationally over the past seven years.

BroadbandAccess Revision A offers computer users the nation's most reliable high-speed wireless mobile broadband network, operating at average upload speeds between 500 and 800 kbps, and download speeds between 600 kbps and 1.4 mbps. V CAST brings video clips of TV shows, music on demand and other multimedia services to wireless phones over Verizon Wireless' high-speed EV-DO network.

I am suprised they did this. Has the sale with Unicel(RCC) completed yet? This is RCC territory and they all ready have a few towers in this area. Why would VZWicon spend the money to put up a tower here with the pending RCC sale?

The RCC buyout hasn't been approved by the feds yet. So there will not be any towers put up using the RCC licenses until the buyout goes through. Moultonborough is listed as having Verizonicon and USCC as the 850 holders in the area. RCC has service further west in Laconia and Plymouth, but the buyout has no effect on the moultonborough area.

I grew up in Laconia and lived in Meredith and Plymouth before moving in 2001. RCC is a non player there. Noone has heard of them. RCC does have towers on the north side of Lake Winnipesaukee, Center Harbor, Meredith, Moulonboro, Ossippee, etc. from what I can tel, but noone has service with them. I never heard of them when I lived there. USCC is big there. Very few people have Verizonicon north of Laconia because you always roam on USSC. Maybe the add of the site was to minimize raming on USCC, but I am 90% sure RCC has a tower there in Moultonboro/ Centre Harbor

Ok those towers make use of RCCs PCS license in the area. My bad. The RCC buyout will help in that area by giving VZ access to those sites that you mentioned, but the improvements wouldnt happen until mid 2008 at the earliest. This site was prolly planned well before most people knew that Verizonicon would be buying out RCC.

Unicel does offer service in Plymouth (03264), Laconia (03246), and Meredith (03253). They may not have a big presence, but they are in the area.
