Hello, I am new to this cell phone thing and I am trying to decide between these two carriers. I live around Burlington, VT. Most of my travel is within VT to local mountains. Can I not go wrong with either one of these, Unicel or Verizon? Does one offer just a bit more coverage/reliability?
Any words on Tracfone coverage/reliability?

The OP did not ask for GSM coverage only. CDMA coverage may or may not be the best for him.

Both Verizon and Unicel have non-stop coverage all along I-89 in Vermont, right to the Canadian border. However, I do not know how far away on either side of I-89 that their respective coverage is maintained.

TracFone is a reseller of wireless service. If you purchase a CDMA TracFone in Burlington, it will activate on Verizon. They do not directly offer GSM service or phones in Vermont, but a GSM TracFone that was activated in Massachusetts for example, will roam on Unicel in Vermont.
