Cellular One Adds New Tower in Catskill

(Catskill, NY) – As part of its ongoing commitment to network excellence, Cellular One from Dobson Cellular Systems said today it has added a new cellular tower in Catskill, New York.

The new cell site will increase coverage and capacity in the town of Catskill and along the New York State Thruway. These advances underscore Cellular One’s ongoing focus of developing, expanding and delivering the highest quality network services available to customers. The cell site was turned on March 30, according to company spokesperson Craig Davis.

Cellular One has continued to focus its efforts on expanding and strengthening its network, spending more than $130 million last year adding more than 200 new cell sites nationwide. The company now has more than 3,000 sites serving more than 1.6 million customers, and even more sites are planned for 2006.

what game is that bobolito? I am new to this , but live in that area and am having a problem with Cingular!

You shouldn't have problems with Cingular in a Cellular One area. Dobson has agreement with Cingular for Cingular Roaming. At least they do in Kentucky.

from previous post, you can't go over 50%
of your Minutes when roaming.

I can tell you exactly where they put the new tower. I work for the company they rented the tower space from. It is on the Mid-Hudson Cable tower, just off of Route 23, just west of the Price Chopper in Catskill. As far as Cingular working on Cellular One. Cell One uses 850 GSM, so as long as your Cingular GSM phone supports 850mhz they you should have service without a problem.
