Default Verizon starts ad blitz agains Cingular

In today's Star ledger Verizon has an add & in Bold letters it says,

"Attention AT&T Wireless Customers;"
As long as your wireless carrier is changing, why not change to the best?
Then below this it says:
AT&T Wireless has been sold to another carrier. And you may need to change your phone, price plan or Network to take advantage of certain features, so make sure you explore all your options, take a look at Verizon wireless. And it goes on some more.

I guess it's advertising blitz time to try and lore customers away from Cingular.

All I asked is that Verizon is honest on what they say and they don't have any plans of doing Sprizon in the next few months.
VZ buys FON
If they did that Alltel/US Cellular would get the divested customers and Cingular would say that your CDMA Java phone is not good because you will need a CDMA brew phone. So the cycle will go round and round.

They may have to divest so much that the DOJ would not allow it now.

It seems to me that they're going for ATTWS' remaining TDMA customer base in NNJ - which is still pretty large, IIRC. Cingular has done a pretty good job of promoting the merger as a seamless transition for the GSM customers (potential SIM exchanges aside), but for TDMA customers to see any real benefits, they'd have to upgrade to a GSM phone/plan.

I agree Critic, especially when they say you may have to change Networks. I was suprised they didn't have it today just a normal ad, I bet Sunday and on we will see more & it will be good for competition and keeping prices down.

This is the world of competition. I'm sure Verizon won't be the only one trying to take advantage of Cingular-AT&T merger issues (especially if any major ones occur). This is only the beginning......
