LG VX600 and Verizon Wireless Problem
For the past year I always had adequate service in my apartment. However, beginning last sunday, I have not been able to make or receive outgoing calls while inside my apartment. My roommate who also has verizon wireless has had no interruption of service while inside our apartment (she has the LG VX3100). I live in the 10th floor of a modern apartment building in midtown manhattan. If I am not in my apartment my cell service works as usual.
Most of the time, I will have full bars displaying but there will be no verizon wireless banner. However, if I connect to a call from outside my apartment and then walk into my apartment, I can talk all day with no problems. In fact, while in my apartment, I can even conference in another caller. However, once I hang up the phone, I can no longer make or receive any calls from within my apartment. I even had a friend come over with the same phone as me, and he had the same problems I had. The only conclusion that I have been able to come to is that my model phone is having registering or connecting issues while I am at home. Once I am connected to the network, I do not have any problems with dropped calls, as one would expect given the nature of this problem.
I have had numerous conversations with the technical support at Verizon. I have replaced my phone, upgraded my software, dialed *18 and *228. I currently have an open ticket to research any problems with the cell site or network.
If anyone has any suggestions or has experienced this very strange problem, please let me know.
