Default email question

I'm a Verizon wireless user - I haven't had a pressing need to get into emailing and searching the web - is there a chance that you could download a virus or something that could screw up your phone operation?

I mean all our computers have virus scans and firewalls to protect our machines.

Just a dumb question,

thanks for your time

Default email question

Could you acquire a virus through downloading a game, program or ringer tone?

Thank you for explaining the "text" only environment to me

The only way that Verizon offers to download applications is through GetItNow --- I highly doubt you would EVER get a virus because all of the software is checked throughout before being made available for download. The only people who can update the software that is available is the GIN folks. As for checking email and such, you have no way to download attachments to your phone AFAIK -- and the only sites you can get to are the larger sites .. amazon.com, then some news feeds. There's bit there, but I think the chance of a virus is extremely thin.
