On the Samsung N400 on the Set Mode should it be set to Automatic or Sprint PCS? I can't seem to find an answer to this question anywhere, I wanted to know which setting is preferable, can anyone help? Thanks, -Eddie |

If it is set to "Sprint PCS" it will only use the Sprint PCS network. If it is set to "Automatic" the phone will be capable of roaming on to other wireless networks. If it is set to "Sprint PCS" and there is no Sprint signal it will show "No Service".

I do believe "Auto" allows you to roam (you will be charged xtra) and Sprint PCS locks you into the SPCS network.

Depends. If you want to make sure that you don't inadvertantly get roaming charges (by placing or receiving a call on analog roam without realising it) or if you want to always be reachable.

What i recommend people do is lock it onto sprintpcs only. And if you need to use your phone in an area that has no digital, then switch it over to analog. I say this because I have observed at times, that in a bad spot, the phone will actually take the easy way out and switch over to analog mode. But if you have it locked onto sprint only....it fights a little tiny bit harder to maintain digital.

I agree with what SprintTechRep said. That's pretty much exactly what I was going to say. |

Same here. Setting your phone to SPCS only will give you a better signal Jack
