You can't just add a number to an accout to get a discount. You need proof of employment.

FYI, I got a foundation acct# from a buddy. I called up and asked them to apply it to my account. No problems, no questions asked. If you don't believe me try if for yourself. Ask a buddy who works at a large company to contact their wireless rep for this #. |

There are 2 different types of Foundation accounts....trust me...I deal with them every day. The first one, is a sponsorship account. That is likely what you were given...you still get the discount but the credit is in your name and if you default...AT&T and their collection agents will come after you. The second one is a liability account...this is where the corporation is financially liable for the account...in our case there is a password on every account that is tagged as corporate liability. Only certain people can place orders, and unless you know the password, you cannot change a rate plan, add or delete features, etc... This protects the company from getting stuck with unnecessary charges when users change themselves to the most expensive rate plan without their boss approval. Also - there are different Foundation accounts for TDMA and GSM..and they are not interchangable. Companies had to sign an addendum to their Corporate Agreement in order to get the discounts on GSM/GPRS. |
