Originally, it was scheduled for early 2004, but due to the heavy usage in New England, they have moved up the target date for complete conversion to mid-2003. Suliman |

Apparently it will be one of the last markets converted, as they've already got pretty much all the midwest done, all the southeast (minus FL) and WA/OR (not northern CA, though).

The Rep I spoke to in mid-December had just come back from a regional meeting where management said that the New England sector were last on the list but were moved up to mid--2003 due to market size. I can't wait since CDMA will help my roaming with Verizon in Maine. Suliman |

It'll also help US Cellular and Verizon because VZW will be roaming digital on their network instead of analog. I'm sure US Cellular switching to CDMA will not only make US Cellular customers happier, but VZW customers in the area happy too.

That's exactly what I meant. I was stuck in an analog roaming area yesterday and I could almost watch the battery strength indicator drop. Digital roaming in "downeast" Maine will be a godsend for me and I hope they can keep to their schedule (mid-2003) as the trout will just about be rising then.
