I went into an American Wireless store which specifically deals with Cingular (authorized Agent) and talked to the Manager who informed me that she was just at a managers meeting last Thursday and the latest word/date on GSM being released in CT is January 18th, 2003. I was shocked that they had an actual date which may fluctuate but should be relatively acurate with the way things SEEM to be going with Cingular as of late. Hope this date sticks!

they are an authorized agent thats it ! go to a corporate store if you want the real low down......dont hold your breath by that date.

Do not hold your breath.... I've been told before Christmas 2002. Then the first week in January... and just last week I was told be customer service in the spring.

Go figure.... anyway...I'm leaving Cingular for the world of Vision.

good luck its not all that great...there are new gsm phones on the horizon..like a full video camcorder phone with front and internal color displays camera phones galore....and new 65,000 color screen phones........

Ok, a full video phone is years away. Sprint has them on the drawing board too once the service is fast enough to meet the demands of video. Sprint already has 1 phone with a built-in camera and others with an attachable one. T-Mobile has camera phones. Every carrier is stepping up to the latest level of technology, not just Cingular.

The Internet is not fast enough for quality video broadcasts yet....lets not hope too much from the wireless implementation....at least in this lifetime [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
