I want to upgrade to another phone on Verizon and was wondering if anyone could help me decide between Motorola T720, Motorola V60i, or Samsung A310? My biggest priorities are clear reception, small size, and ease of use. I currently have an LG 5150 and have not had much success with it on Verizon in New York City -- tons of dropped calls and terrible reception. Any tips would be helpful -- thanks! |

I can only comment on the T720 and A310. For me the T720 seems to get much better reception than my wife's A310 - side by side in some areas we can see the difference, she'll have two bars and I'll have three or four. I can mainly tell the difference when using her phone, no drop calls but in poor areas there are lots of "skips". In NYC you may not notice a difference at all though. Both are about the same size, small enough to carry in my front pocket without any worries - If I remember correctly, the V60i has the same antenna as my old V120 and that had a tendency to have its antenna brake off while in my pocket. As far as ease of use goes, both the T720 and A310, in my opinion, are very easy to use. With the $50 deal after trade in rebate, the T720 seems to be the best value of the three. I am sure you will get others who feel the other phones are better, so just make sure you use your 15 trial period and return your phone for different one if you are not happy with it.

I've had all three phones. The v60 has a better battery life, but the T720 has much more of the "wow factor" Both have excellent reception and call quality. The screen on the T720 is much easier to read. I don't recommend the A310. The ringers are very annoying, the reception is iffy, and it heats up really quickly (I could never understand what did "heating up" meant until I had this phone, it gets REALLY hot) The only advantage this phone has over the T720 is that the screen is easy to read if you have troubled eyesight (everything is icon based). If I were you, I would try out the T720 for the 15 day trial period (don't send in the rebate until you're sure you want to keep it, because you can't return it after that) and if you don't like it, get the v60. Everyone likes that phone. BTW, I like my T720 the best.

I had the T720 on Cingulars GSM service and I returned it. The phone it's self was ok....but it had a lot of quirks. Sometimes it would lock up....the screen would turn black and I would have to shut it off and power it on again. Also...the GSM reception was sub-par. With the T720 I had it was GSM only....no TDMA or analog support......so the reception inside of buildings was particularly crappy. After I returned it I picked up a V60t and also got my old TDMA plan back. The V60t is the best little phone I have ever owned. My choice: Definently the V60 But you may have better luck than I did with the T720........I have seen many people on these boards who own the T720 and love it. |

Hey I had the a310. Thought that phone was garbage,, heats up quick and felt like it was about to fall apart bigtime!! I went and tried the Motorola v60i. Awesome phone. The best I ever had I may say |

Ok, I have a T720 on AT&T and I love it...but looking at all of the comments about the T720 on Verizon, I don't think it's a great idea to get one. The Samsung A-310 is a good phone for the most part, but you guys are right, my friend's A-310 does heat up quickly. Go with the Moto V60i. It's a nice, reliable phone with a good signal. Don't take your chances on the the others only unless you want to. |
