Default Cingular Prepaid

I have a questiion about Cingular prepaid. Does it allow roaming with Cingular phones now on the Cingular Preffered Nation plan network or only local network? Do they allow the setting up of a GAIT phone (Nokia 6340i) w/ Cingular prepaid?

Cingular prepaid only workes on the Cingular-owned TDMA network (in the East). There's a map at Cingular's website of the prepaid coverage area.

you can`t activate a Gait phone on Cingular`s prepaid TDMA networks, you need a simcard and the system will not let you do it. can you do it on a Gsm market?, i don`t know. I don`t think prepaid simcards are Gait compatible.

Cingular (TDMA) prepaid can roam, but outside Cingular TDMA markets it's VERY expensive ($2/min, IIRC), and you can't receive calls. No GAIT since Cingular GSM doesn't support roaming.

Pretty much ANY carrier is better than Cingular for prepaid...
