Default Middlesex, NJ--time for a change, but to what?

I've had a sprint Samsung SCH-8500 for about 18 months now. I bought it in Missouri, where reception was ok (though not as good as my mom's, who has a different model sprint phone), but since I've moved to the Princeton/Middlesex NJ area, reception at my apartment is fringe--dropped calls about once/hour, horrible battery life because it's always searching for signal, etc. I've lived with this long enough; I'm fed up.

But I'm not sure what to do. Do you guys think getting one of the more highly praised Sanyo phones would help my reception noticibly? (Keeping my current phone number is a definite advantage...) Or should I change providers? Plans I'd consider are the national ones in the $30-ish price range with night/weekend benefits, which seem to be:
Sprint $30 for 300 anytime, unlim night/weekend
ATT $34.99 for 500 anytime, unlim night/weekend
T-Mobile $39.99 for 600 anytime, unlim night/weekend
Verizon $39.99 for 400 anytime, unlim night/weekend

And as far as phones... I like well-lit phones that are easy to read and navigate, and I would really like a flip phone with a speakerphone. (The only phone manufacturer to offer this appears to be Samsung, which I'd prefer to avoid given my experience with my current phone and comments on this forum.) In my area reception strength has to be a main consideration. I'm not into the web stuff, but I wouldn't mind being able to sync my phonebook with my mac. That seems an iffy prospect with any phone other than the T68i though, and I'm definitely not ready for the expense and limited coverage of GSM yet. If I stay with sprint I may try the Sanyo 4900 considering comments in the forum...

Any advice or comments would be appreciated in terms of reception, plans and/or phones... Thanks!

Hey, I live in middlesex county verizon is your best bet with service I use it myself and sell it. I have not one complaint I also sell t-mobile, att, cingular ect. You get the least for your money with verizon but it is the best. So all in all you get what you paid for. If you want a great deal from a fellow WD.com member, Email me for prices and I can have you stop in the store. ect. Email me for any questions Mike@cellularfashions.com

THey are not allowed to sell verizon because of the area, and the terms we have with verizon, only our Edison Stores is allowed to sell verizon, and that would be done through me. If you have any questions call before you come and we can set something up. Thank you
