I lost my AT&T phone last night in a taxi and had it immediately de-activated. I need to get a new phone ASAP, but am facing paying big money for not so great phones. I had a Panasonic Allure and would like to get another similar grade phone, but can't afford to pay so much. Anyone have any advice about what new phone to get and where? Any rebates available, etc? Thanks in advance! |

If you're still under contract, you can try to negotaite a reasonable deal with them in exchange for an extension on your contract. Ask to talk to a higher-up than the person who answers the phone (or see a store manager). If that doesn't work, turn to eBay or other online marketplaces.

I know this is probably asked all the time, but if I do purchase a new Allure phone from E-bay, can I keep my same number...I am really clueless about these things so any help is appreciated! |

I had the same problem and found that www.amazon.com sells the panasonic versio for 69$ and has free shipping on it too. Just go through all the steps of filling out your zipcode etc and when it asks you to choose a plan scroll to the bottom and you should see an option for buying the phone unlocked. If you want another phone try ebay. |

the phone number is linked to your account and not the phone. As long as you have the same account you can activate any phone with it and you will be using the same number each time.

is $4 a month, then it's a $35-50 deductible if you lsoe the phone ^^^^^^^ Agreed, insurance not worth it if the covered phone is something like a Nokia 5160/3360 ... |

"Extended warranty? How can I go wrong!" -- Homer Simpson The last post is probably right; insure it only if it costs a lot. |
