Default What happened to the T68i

That's a good question. They used to have it on their website for NYC, but now it is gone. I wonder if they sold out or what? They don't even list the t68m in that area. I've seen it in the Best Buy here in NYC, so you most be able to get it somewhere. You could always buy an unlocked phone, or buy a locked AT&T phone and unlock it yourself. Best Buy has the t68i for AT&T for $99.99 this week, no activation required. You could get it there and spend $20 and get it unlockd. That would be much cheaper than buying it from Cingular.

Cingular pulled all t68i's and are planning a relaunch with the Camera as part of the package.

No ETA at this time.

Hello,
Just to clarify BestBuy has AT&T SonyEricsson T68i for $99 (or $49 after rebate).
I read a post in this thread from some "informed" person stating that BB would sell you aphone w/o activation and guess what?
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES THEY WOULD SELL IT TO YOU WITHOUT INSTORE ACTIVATION.
Please stop missleading people!

I'm glad I found this topic! I noticed the past two weeks that AT&T, (both TDMA & GSM) Has been selling some really cheap phones without activation. Last week I attempted to go in and get a 8265, without signing a new contract. It is indeed true that you don't need to sign a new contract, but according to the rep, I needed to be a customer.. so I was out of luck. This week they had the T68i from ATT for $99 w/o a new activation! I was going to try a different store but never got around to it.

So here's what I know: These must not require an activation...(most phones come with a rebate that do, but prices are still goot.. the t68i w/ activation is $49.99 or withoug $99.99) but I think you must have to be an ATT customer. I was going to try to argue this, as it doesn't state this in their flyer, but I never got around to trying to get the T68i which went on sale this week.
