Greetings, I have read the previous posts on T-Mobile service in the Boston area but was wondering about service in the Worcester/Central Massachusetts area? Anyone have any experience with them here? Also, anyone have experience using them along the major highways (Masspike, 128)? I am leaving Cingular and am torn between Verizon and T-Mobile. That GSM network is calling out to me though... Greg |

I heard that T-Mobile was spotty in Western Mass. Not sure about the exact areas since I don't have the service.

Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to stick with Cingular. Verizon doesn't seem to have good reception at my house. Greg |

i just came back from the northern ri area and was very dissapointed by att coverage. my s46 kept jumping between extended area, att and att wireless, none of which were seamless transitions. fortunately i had a tmobile phone which performed reliably throughout the area

in new england, cingular TDMA is absolutely the best. within the cities, they all work pretty good. overall in wusta and central mass..i'd say it goes like this: #1: Cingular...works EVERYWHERE (TDMA) #2: Verizon...lots of friends have it...works good... #3: AT&T...good, but switches to cingular (at&t extend) a lot...but i think they have agreements and theres no roaming charges anyways #4: Nextel...pretty good... #5: Sprint...drops calls as you drive all the time, so many dead spots...my friend has it here, and at his house its roaming on verizon and charges roaming #6: Voicestream...sucks... |

Thanks for the info. I decided on AT&T with the Siemens s46 dual band phone. I get GSM coverage where I live and it is quite strong where I work. Also, with the TDMA capabilities of the phone, I can easily use that network too. I used to have Cingular but I have had one too many problems with them. Thanks again for the help, Greg |
