It seems like they don't need more NE customers or we would get the promotion too...

I e-mailed Verizon yesterday and asked them why they didn;t add more peak minutes to the new england market and this is what they said, At this time, and after extensive research, Verizon Wireless has determined that the overwhelming majority of our customers would be best served by the offerings that we currently have. We feel that these offerings are among the most competitive in the industry and that they offer a wide range of options. We apologize that you feel that the price plan offerings may not exactly meet your needs, but we will be happy to keep you informed of any future offerings. if you should care to discuss any of the price plans, we would be happy to provide you with a price plan analysis, and outline the specifics of our current promotions. please feel free to contact Customer Service at 1-800-922-0204 ( so if anyone thinks their response is pretty lame call them and complain! it;s the only way to get them to bend).

There are more mins on the A/C plans. You have to really look. Click on one of the A/C plans like you are going to buy one. Under the anytime mins. it still says 300 mins. but over to the left for something like 4.99 a month more you get 1000 moblie to Mobile mins, 100 MORE anytime mins, and Unlimited Nights & Weekends. |

Tompug: After running that message through my Real Language translating software, this is what it showed as the real meaning behind it: "At this time, and after extensive research, Verizon Wireless has determined that the competition is too overwhelming for us and we can't afford to offer competitive rate plans for the holidays at this time. We feel that since we have the best coverage and own most of the wireline network in the northeast, we are going to be greedy about it since even if you choose another carrier we still make money in the end. So take it or leave it! We apologize that you feel the price plan offerings may not exactly meet your needs, but we will be happy to rip you off in case you decide to sign up with us anyway. Please feel free to contact Customer Service at 1-800-922-0204"

Don't be so sure...here's some food for thought: Cell phone users willing to pay for higher call quality Cell phone users are unanimous that the voice quality of cell phone calls is unacceptable, but split on whether they are prepared to pay more for better service, according to a survey from speech quality specialist, Psytechnics. The poll among 237 USA based cell phone users shows that 82% are frustrated by mobile networks' call quality being lower than standard telephone lines. A third of all respondents stated the cost of calls should reflect the level of voice quality, with providers offering cheaper rates or discounts for poor connections. Business users are even prepared to pay a premium for a guaranteed high level of voice quality. In fact, half stated this would be worth the extra cost. Consumer users are less willing to part with additional dollars. Only 16% would be prepared to pay more for better quality for their personal cell phone calls. The survey results indicate that service providers have an opportunity to offer tiered-levels of service based on quality, to help generate new revenue streams, while improving customer satisfaction. "Consumers expect that commodities should meet quality standards, so why should the voice quality on their cell phone be any different?" said Iain Wood, director of sales and marketing at Psytechnics. "The cell phone industry still has to convince its customer base that call quality is improving. Network providers have a real opportunity to differentiate themselves and attract a wider customer base. To do this, operators need to invest in test and measurement tools to continually monitor and improve voice quality." |

Crane I agree with you over Sprint...but ATT's network plan looks pretty lame. Nice amound of minutes but bad coverage. For me I'd be on Cingular, i couldnt even get the plan till I go to the U of D next year. Anyway they don't even have service in most of New York. I feel Sprint is better than ATT, and Verizon beats them both with their nationwide plans. -Airb330 @ school
