So i changed the color of my vx6000

Well i bought one of the full body replacements for my vx6000 a while back. (about a month) and the phone is black and looks great.....however its dropping calls left and right lately and i want verizon to take a look at it. Will they just give me a line of CrAp and tell me its because i took the phone apart to change the case ? will they tell me i voided the warranty ? or should i take the time to put the stock silver one back on then take it to them ? i need my 6000 to last till january 7th....Thats upgrade day...LOL

From the sound of things, you might have somehow compromised your antenna connection when you changed the body. Yes, VZW will tell you you've voided your warranty, assuming it's still in effect - and there's a chance they won't even want to touch it. (And, incidentally, it's not a line of crap. Warranties are very specific about what they will and won't cover, and under what circumstances.) You might just be better off getting an "oops" refurb for $50 to hold you until your renewal/NE2 kicks in.

Curious to see what the black looks like on a VX6000.

You probably have to swap the silver body back but when you replace it with the new black body, pay special attention to the area where the antenna is. I'm thinking that something jarred loose after you put on the replacement.

Make sure that you take the brass strip from the original LG case, it works as a base for the antenna's contacts in a sense...
now don't even bother taking the phone with the aftermarket casing to Verizon, they won't touch it, just like you assumed, but if you do just do like you were planning and put the original back on, they will swapped out for a refurb, even if it's over a year old, they have with mine many various times, if they don't, try a different store or go at a different time...

i put my silver case back on and the signal comes in the way it was.......i know about the little brass contact tab it was set properly.....all well jan 7th is NE2 day so ill ebay the black replacement cover.....15 plus shipping......i paid 25 for it

Yes Andy, i've done it many times with my 6K and not too long ago with my Audi 9500 and that phone is way older than two years, i think it also depends who helps you at the store but i haven't had any problems everytime i go.
