Default Eastern Pa Help

I reside in Easton and do very little traveling. I currently have voicestream's $20 plans for my wife and I, as we hardly use the phones, only for emergencies. We have had issues with the service over the last year, and now that the contract is up I am considering changing providers. I have looked at several family talk plans, but it just doesn't seem to have that much value. What provider works best in this area, and what plan would you recommend. Also, what phone would you recommend as well. Long distance is nice, but not a necessity.

I do enough traveling between points west and Easton. Have not had any problems with Verizon during any of the trips taken. AT&T was OK as well, but when you start to get into the boonies past I-81, forget about it.

If you're just travelling between Reading and Easton on I-78, you might want to look at either T-Mobile or Conestoga. They'll probably be cheaper than ATT or Verizon, and I know from personal experience that Conestoga has one of the strongest coverage areas in all of Berks county (I'd say stronger than tmobile).

Actually, all the carriers will be fine for you - but if you ever leave the Interstate - Sprint PCS service will be less than desirable.

If you have questions about a certain town, I can pretty much tell you where all the carriers' towers are in Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties. Yes, I know its a strange hobby.

In my personal experience, Cingular has good coverage in Lehigh County.

I just heard on 9-29-02 from a T-Mobile representative that T-Mobile has recently purchased the Conestoga system. F.Y.I.

There's no news on Conestoga wireless. Their parent company, D&E Communications, has not filed anything with the SEC recently, or and press releases. T-Mobile purchased PCSOne earlier this year.

D&E is trying to sell Conestoga Wireless though.....it was a condition of their merger with Conestoga Enterprises.
