This may be a no brainer, But I have to ask. I have had Verizon for 3 yrs. with no problems, except billing problems, time and time again. However, I was wondering how AT&T shared national plans compare to Verizon's America's choice family plans. The coverage map seems the same, but how is overall quality and reception? Are there dead spots? I am not convinced that I will change, but am considering it. Thanks for your help.

AT&T's national plan has nowhere near the amount of coverage as Verizon AC plans. AT&T National plan map That is for TDMA. Their GSM national plan has less coverage. |

i agree verizons coverage dominates the at&t coverage as far as dead spots and dropped calls. if you happy with what you have id stay there.

Comparing Verizon to AT&T is like comparing heaven to hell. Upon entering the gates of hell, they take your Verizon phone away and give you an AT&T GSM phone! But seriously, you'd be crazy to leave Verizon for AT&T. CDMA rules! |

it depends where you are, I had att GSM in the new brunswick/piscataway area and it sucked, didn't get any service in my dorms or inside some classrooms. Now, I went back to TDMA and it rocks, almost full service everywhere! By the way, my friends with Verizon phones here don't get the same coverage I do now with TDMA. It depends where you are!!! |

Is there a reason that you haven't looked at Cingular? Cingular's GSM Nation has a lot of coverage and gives you more minutes for less money than Verizon's AC. Oh, and Cingular only charges $10 to add a phone to their plans while Verizon charges $20.
