I just signed up for VW America's Choice. The plan I picked (online--we have a corporate discount) is the America's Choice 700, and the promotion (just like on www.verizonwireless.com) says that you get "100 bonus minutes" as well as 1,000 mobile-to-mobile minutes. But when I called to activate my phone, I was told that the 700 minutes includes the 100 bonus minutes. Is this right??? It looked to me like I was getting 800 minutes? Did I just get snookered, or is this the way it is?

It is my understanding that you should get 800 minutes. From Verizon: "700 Anytime Minutes PLUS 100 Bonus Anytime Minutes" sounds like 800 to me.

The old 700 minute plan (550 + 150 bonus) was plan # PAC7 The old plan shows up on your bill as "700 general" PAC7 AMERICAS CHOICE 700 ANYTIME 1002 ~~~~~~ The new 800 minute plan (700 + 100 bonus) is plan # PAC59 The new plan shows up on your bill as "800 general" PAC59 AMERICAS CHOICE 800 ANYTIME 0603 ~~~~~~ Hope this helps! |

no...just tell them you don't want your activation fee waived and that you insist on a 1 year plan...usually the verizon stores are more lenient about this then CS..

Bad news is I bought online--to get my company discount. But they're the same plans. Is there any hope if I call up CC? Does anyone know if it's really true that you need a 2 yr agreement for this plan?

You DONT need a two year agreement for the plan. Even if you got it online, and calling customer service does nothing, go to a store and tell them that they didnt set up your plan correctly.

This is rediculous. I just called customer care and they insisted that I'm on the 550 anytime plus 150 bonus = 700. Of course this makes no sense at all since the plan I signed up for had 100 bonus minutes (on top of the 700, of course). I mentioned PAC 59 and there was talk of a two year agreement. Honestly, the rep seemed to be making stuff up. I sent her an email directly and she's "showing it to her supervisor." What a hassle!! Any suggestions? Why would a store help me if I've already purchased the phone and activated? What's in it for them?

The store provides customer service as well. In the store they have to look you in the eye and tell you things, and you also dont have to hang up, call someone else or wait for a call back. Go to a store and don't leave until they fix it. If you dont want to go in, call and ask for a supervisor directly before talking to a rep. |

Latest update--I sent the screen shot of my order confirm to the Verizon rep. She then called me back and said that she was very sorry, that she didn't know about this plan and it hadn't shown up on her screen, and obviously what I was saying made sense, and she was going to change it. I couldn't believe she called me back and was so nice and apologetic. Of course, I still haven't gotten the confirmation of the change, so we'll see. But things are looking up.

That's more like it. If she said she changed it you should be able to call up again, speak to any CS rep, and they'll tell you what plan you're on, which should be the 800 minute plan.

OK, just an update here. Of course, nothing has been changed yet. I called again, and they finally got me to a supervisor who was very helpful and she said she was making the change. I forgot to ask if she was bumping me to a 2-yr agreement, so I'll have to check that. Probably I shouldn't be too impressed since I just got an insert with my first bill advertising the plan. And it is, in fact, PAC-59. They just didn't have their act together and don't have a consistent story. Bottom line: problem resolved; way too much effort on my part to get there. |

This plan has been out for awhile now (700+100) for 800 mins. That rep was a little clueless lol. Glad you got things worked out, but that took so long! Thanks for the update, we all appreciate it, and we are glad we could help.
