Exactly my point! Sometimes we need to be allowed to hit the concrete wall in order to wake up to reality. We all explained it very clearly and extensively.

I'll be HONEST with you here. I don't really want to change carriers. I like the coverage area that Cingular currently has in my area and I also like their rates. But what I don't like is that they have employees who don't know WTF is going on. Cingular employees have NO CLUE as how to help their customers. Their customer service SUCKS! And it sucks BIGTIME. The ONLY reasons why I am STILL with Cingular is because they currently have decent rates and they also have a very good coverage area around here. These are the ONLY good things about Cingular. If it wasn't for these things, I would be with AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, NEXTEL or Verizon by now.

well if you dont want every other call dropped that rules out at&t, if you want it to work in the house then that rules out tmobile, sprint i think ill need another thread for and nextel ill need a new forum...ifprice matters that much that rules out verizon.....so your pretty stuck for the time being...however if you have cingular gsm you can always go to t-mobile. its the same towers and better rates. and i cant agree more cingular reps are ill informed when it comes to their business and their products.

T-Mobile and Cingular do not share towers up in MA. I believe that ALL carriers have their share of ill informed reps. However, this situation seems to be a common complaint from Cingular users lately.

oops your right they dont i just looked. however i noticed that too that complaints seemed to be comming more from cingular lately. Well being that they added over 500,000 people (and lost a few) who knows what means were used to get those customers. When i worked for the corporate store the training was intense i have multiple trainings i had to attend. now the authorized resellers well they basically got the shove aside and thats sad when they make more revenue for cingular than the corporate stores do.

First off, Cingular does not produce phones...Nokia does...so when Nokia creates software that has a glitch you shouldn't take it personally to a Cingular Store. The Cingular store screwed up and should have sent your phone out for repair to "Nokia" not Cingular cause remember, they don't manufacture the phone. So you should have gotten a loaner phone and Nokia should have sent out a new working phone to you. Period. "Not Renewing my Contract" Listen i dont own the business, so i don't really care. How much did you pay for the phones? And what phones did you get? | |

Markus, I recently purchased 2 brand new Cingular GSM phones without a contract. My current Cingular contract expires in the end of October 2003 and I didn't want to be tied down to a 1 or to a 2 year contract with Cingular, especially when there is constant new technology appearing every 3 to 6 months with all the various cell phone manufacturers out there today. I want to be able to buy a new cell phone whenever I want to without the service provider telling me that I am "limited" on when and how many phones I can purchase and own every year. Plus, I would like to be able to have flexibility when it comes to choosing who I want to have as a cell phone provider. Right now, Cingular looks like the best choice for me, but down the road there may be a better company out there. So, I don't want to limit my options by being tied down with a contract. I recently bought a Nokia 6800 GSM phone last month and I purchased a Samsung SGH s307 phone just 3 days ago. I paid almost $400 for the Nokia phone and $250 for the Samsung phone. I love both of these phones, but I am now hooked on the ultra compact Samsung that I just bought 3 days ago. I like its miniaturability and its excellent picture and sound quality. I will try to keep both of these phones for as long as I can until something better and more advanced comes out. I never want to sign a contract with any wireless service provider ever again. |

Markus, I think that the Samsung SGH s307 was originally something like $400 to begin with. Then Cingular dropped the price on this model phone to $350 and then to $300. I asked if I could get this phone for a better price than $300 and Cingular took off an extra $50, so I was able to buy it for $249.99 WITHOUT a contract. I spent an additional $45 for an automobile rapid charger ($24.99) and a hands-free earbud ($19.99). So, I think that this was a pretty good deal. How much did you buy yours for? Did you get any rebates? |
