I'd like for some advice, please. I have an old (relatively speaking) StarTac (7868W) that is dying a miserable death. I need to replace the phone. I am loyal to Motorola. According to my local Verion store in NJ, the only Motorola phone now being sold is the T720. Everything I read ... especially on this forum ... says that phone is crap. Verizon tells me the V60p is coming out in July with the PTT feature. Does anyone know of any other Motorola phone that will be available to Verizon in the VERY near future? T722, T725, T730, v600? Thanks! |

Unless you really, really want the 1X data features, buy yourself another StarTac on eBay or elsewhere. You can get new in the box for $50 or so... |

Well, if I am gonna have to buy something, I'd rather buy something new ... especially with some of the new features like the voice dialing, SMS capabilites, etc. Any advice? |

hate to tell you but those specific models are gsm only at the present time. That motorola t720 is crap. The startac was actually constructed better IMO. Try the lg4400 the construction seems very durable IMO or try the vx3100. or the vx10.

Right now the V60i is the way to go, but it is hard to find at Verizon stores. The V60i isn't EN capable. The V60p is EN capable along with having SMS.

I would go with the v60i. OR buy a inexpensive phone such as another 7868 and wait for the v60p Jack

Radio Shacks still seem to have a few of the V60i and so do some indie agents. If not wait for the V60p.

The only other Motorola available would be the 120e, and I don't think you want that one...

The latest phone from Motorola are less than exciting. The LG VX4400 is an excellent phone and is worth a look. The T720 doesnt offer anything new and does poorly with things that were good about Moto.

ARE YOU REALLY A TRUE MOTO FAN? Well, if you are, like me, then DO NOT go off company. I tried the 9500, the 4400, and the a310. THree different companies, three different user interfaces. Crappy speakers (4400), bulky products (9500) and way stupid interfaces drove me INSANE. I was on the forums, ebay, and elsewhere every day looking to borrow money to get back to Moto. I got lucky. My g/f had an upgrade and I used it. JFC, it felt so much better. Yes, everyone is right about the 720. BUTTTTTTT--I had 4 720's when they first came out....that's why I went off-company. BUTTTTT--the latest s/w version for 720's are AWESOME. I haven't had ONE major problem...let alone any problem. Yeah, you MIGHT get an occassional reset, but otherwise this phone rocks da house. Just remeber 2 things: 1. THere is a chance you might get a defect....in that case, try ur phone out for the 15 days and make sure it works. 2. Once you go color, be preparred to never want a g(r)ay scale phone again. Of course, if you are a true Moto fan, when PTT comes out, be preparred to temporarily go back to the V60. Stay true. Every phone that has ever come out of Korea has SU CK ED. |

Thanks Mrdobrow21 ... I am a true Moto fan ... and think I'll just wait for the v60p to hit store shelves. |
