Well, after talking to the verizon rep today, he actually had real info on the PTT. He said it will be launched July 1st. This may be only in the business sector, but its still a confirmed release, with the motorola v60?(I forgot the exact model) as the opening phone.

The Verizon rep that i talked with today said to call him on the 25th that he was going to a training class on the 24th. This leads me to belive that ptt will be coming out very soon.

has anyone found out yet if they are going to let everyone get new phones or wate till there contract is up to get an upgrade? I really hope they let everyone have a chance to get a new phone.

If you want to pay full price, they will let you buy a new phone....but they will let you do that now anyway. I can almost guarantee they will not let you buy a phone at the promo/subsidized price unless your contract is up and you are eligable. It's kind of when like mobile web or 1x came out. Just because there is a new feature, doesn't mean everyone should have a new phone.

I guess it depends perhaps on just how much VZN wants to promote this feature
Perspnally, I could care less about PTT I just hope it doesn't screw the network any more than it already is.

PTT is real nice ...all i can say is a step above your iden service. The sounds are the same. Beeping for send and receiving. The v60p is a nice phone polyphonic ring tones ...animated menus.... combine that with the vz network....bye bye competition.

look for a samsung model a690 releasing with it. PTT with color screen...

In VZW south area they have enacted a temporary policy allowing the 2year contract holders to upgrade after 12 months but of course you'd restart your NE2 timer. They actually set an expiration on this policy (Febuary or something.)

What the price may be for any of the PTT equipped phones coming out, or, how VZN is going to "price" this feature in the airtime package ?

i dont think anyone has pricing info out yet, but...
i think PTT will be a add on feature (like express network) to your current service and i think that you will be able to pick from certain packages..... just a possibility *shrug*
