with Tracfone, does that mean that all the airtime I buy will not expire for 1 year (from the date I purchased the phone)??

That is correct. My mother uses that service. If you buy the annual card you do not need to renew your minutes for a year (unless of course you use up all your minutes).

if you ever plan on using your phone, dont go prepaid it gets really expensive...
