So why would they only replace 2/4 pannels in each direction?

Some of the newer pannels can do both 800 and 1900. Also, some of the newer panels can handle more calls.

Thanks for the suggestions, however, I failed to mention that I would like expandable memory and 1+MP camera

Also don't forget, T-Mobileicon is getting everything setup to give up 10 Mhz to Cingular as part of the sale, I have seen & talked to T-Mobileicon techs & they are working overtime to get this done as fast as possible. I have seen some new T-Mobileicon sites go up in our town in the last 6 months so they are trying to get the holes covered & increase the capacity for the loss of the 10 Mhz.
It would be interesting to see if T-Mobile starts the 850 roaming agreement with Cingular in this area, it would help T-Mobile out big time and would make them a contender against Cingular.

That would cost them BIG money as people would be roaming on Cingular most of the time.

    HEY!!!

I will say this though....I don't know the details, but expect some major action on the subject of TMOicon 850 roaming in the near future (next month or so)

Sorry, I should've specified in North NJ. I know T-Mobileicon is great in places like Providence, Las Vegas, and some other cities. But in NJ they just don't fare well.

Thanks for all the help. Now which phone should I go with, the Motorola v635 or the Sony Ericsson s710a.

I've always had Motorolas and have had very good luck with them. But, I love the k750i from Sony Ericsson and their gui beats motorolas

I was looking to buy the Sony W800i, which is basically the same phone as the k750i and only does 900/1800/1900. I spend most of my time on eastern Long Island, but sometimes visit NYC and New Jersey too. Is it a bad idea to get a phone w/o 850MHz band? If all the Cingular cellphone towers run on both 850 and 1900, shouldn't I not have any problems? Snozle, was your reception really that bad? Thanks.

Thanks Snozle. Hmmm is it possible that Sony will release a US version with 850 and EDGE? I think thats what they did with the s710. Oh please please let them come out with a US version! haha

in my opinion Cingular has good combined 1900 and 850nmhz coverage in NY/NJ area. The interior coverage is better with ATTicon than T-Mob.
