    Default verizon in Pennsylvania

My daughter is using her Verizonicon phone at summer camp in Honesdale, PA.

The LG phone indicates that is in a roaming area, being picked up by Cellular One of NE PA

Verizon Wirelessicon says that I will be charged for roaming at 69 cents per minute, while Cellular One says that they have an agreement not to charge Verizonicon.

Does anyone have a definitive answer on roaming charges?

South Canaan Cellular doing business as Cellular One of Northeast PA is free roam (Extended Network) as long as you have update your PRL.
To update PRL do *22801 when you are on a Verizon Wirelessicon tower.
You will just need to do option 2 to update roaming abilities

If the PRL is an older verison then you might get charged for roaming.

on a side note if you are ever on Dobson (Cellular One) you will be charged 69¢ for roaming.

    Is *22801 different than *228 option 2?

Does it have to be done near a Verizonicon tower?

AgentHibby simply means the following: While in a Verizonicon service area, dial *228 and then select option number two.

What Plan do you have? Is it America's Choice or Local?

    *228 will work as well
you must be on a VZW tower to update roaming or reprogram phone.
*22801 points the phone to Cellular B network only.
Verizonicon is the Cellular B provider in almost all parts of PA except for where Cellular One of NE PA is and US Cellular in the south central part of the state.
