i've just used whatever rings came on my phone until now. i did try to download a ringtone once before and although the test tone sent to my phone worked, the actual one did not. that was my old samsung. this shiny new nokia should do better. i would like to find out how to download/make a ringtone onto my mac and then send to the phone (via bluetooth, most likely). is this possible? i need a little tutorial. i'm tech savvy, but as far as my mobile phone goes, it's a phone and I don't want to spend much time playing with it. so i have no interest in learning hacks to the os, etc. the main thing is that I don't want to sign up for web access (t-mobile) just for this. i tried that on my last phone and it got me nowhere aside from a slightly larger bill one month. i don't want to use t-zones because first, i'd like just a plain old-fashioned phone ringing sound and second, i'd like to take an mp3 or two of my husband's songs - not available on tzones. much tia for any pertinent info! |

On Windows, when I have paired the phone with the computer, I can right-click the file and the Send To menu will have Bluetooth targets there. I think Mac will have something similar. I think when you rip the MP3s you need to remove the DRM, or you may have trouble using them as ringtones. And if you're OK with MIDI, the old-fashioned ringing phone sound can be found here (that's the one I use). Hope this helps. | |
