According to Field Test 8265 tests a little better then 5165. However, my 5165 droped a call in my room 2-3 times in almost 2 years, where 8265 drops it 2-3 times a week. Also, in some places on my way home 8265 drops the call where 5165 didn't. I'm not holding or even touching my phone when I'm talking. I'm always using a headset. Any ideas why? I wonder if 6360 is better in this case then 8265, although Field Tests resoults on these phones are about the same. |

See, when your holding the 5165, i think you act as a extention to the external antenna. the 8265 may have been sitting on your car seat lets say... that is lower to the ground, and something may be acting against it. Also i found that if you hold the phone wrong, covering the antenna a certain way, it reduces the signal. Or it may be your service getting worse due to overloaded towers. Hope this helps Ryan |

I just got 2 dropped calls within an hour. Maybe AT&T is getting more customers right now with the new promotions they have, which are the best promotions they had in a long time. Or may be there are some other criterias besides signal strength on field test that need to be looked at. | |
