I am definently partial to the flip style......thus my owning a V60. I like the quality of Nokia phones.......but unless they come out with a clamshell model....I'm sticking to other brands. Espically Motorola. |

Actually, I have a flip Nokia. It's an 8390 with a 6500 conversion cover on it. I know what you're thinking... "6500? What?" That's right, the 6500, Nokia's first phone with an active flip. It's not for sale in the U.S., but you can order a 8390-to-6500 conversion cover on eBay for about $20 or so. Also on GSMsquare.com and GoGoTelecom.com for about the same price. It's not an active flip like the real 6500, but it is flippin! More info on the real 6500 can be found on Nokia's Asia website, and also on Cnet's Asia website under the cell phone reviews. http://www.threegmobile.net/gallery/nokia6500/ Cheers! |

Nokia has had active flips before. There was the analog 282, which was a real clamshell, and then the 6161 and 6162, which were both flips like the 6500 variant. Nokia still makes some modern clamshells for the Japanese market as well. http://www.nokia.co.jp/products/index.html |

The only Nokia real flip (clamshell) phone that I know is the 282 that tylerdurden mentioned. The others are just candybars with a flip cover on them. Basically, any candybar phone with replaceable faceplates can be turned into flip like that. But that doesn't make it comparable to clamshell phones.
