Activate a Nokia 3585 ( Alltel Prepaid ) to Verizon ?

My Verizon LG phone was recently lost . I am looking for a very cheap brand new replacement phone (bells and whistles not impt just good voice and RF ) . I have thought about buying one of those Simple Freedom with the Nokia Phone kits at Walmart or Sams Club if I could program it to my VZW account ? ( how ?) - thanks

If you are in the Boston, MA area, I do not believe the Simple Freedom (SF) phones are fully compatible with Verizon around here. I went through two SF phones in nine days and both of them had difficulty detecting incoming calls. I informed Alltel of the problems after both were returned and I hope they can find out what was causing this (and fix it) because the phones themselves weren't bad, they just would not receive incoming calls.

You may want to look at the Nokia 3589i that Verizon offers. Locally, it is $29 with a 2-year agreement, but I paid full retail for mine ($129) as I wanted to use it on their prepaid service.
