Nokia 3589i Voice Mail Notification Problem....

Hi I have a Nokia 3589i phone for Verizon and everytime I receive a voicemail on my phone no matter what tone I have my message alert set to it always makes a single beep sound and will not play the message tone which i have it set to. Now the same sound is supposed to be made when you get a text message and a voice message, and when I receive a text message it plays the right sound that I have set it to. i have taken my phone into the store to see if the tech could fix it but he could not figure it out! I was just wondering if anyone else was experienceing this same problem, and if you are, please let me know by replying or let me know of any information you have on this problem. Thanks in advance.

only have the phone 3 days so I'm not an expert with all the settings yet, but I can confirm that I have the message alert tone set to "standard" but only get the "beep once" alert tone. Fortunately I like the "beep once" and would have changed it to it had it been the other tones..."standard", "special", etc. I would still like to know, however, if anyone knows how to get it to work correctly. And if I figure it out I'll post here.
