Default nokia and flip phones

I was wondering how come nokia hasnt made any flip phones? just a question I have always wondered I know they made one model and i think it was the 282 but after that the flip style has disappered with them.

Default nokia and flip phones

nokia has one flip phone in GSM. Also TDMA phone 6161& 7160.
for CDMA markets - Nokia 8887 (in reality it is LG)

Nokia is a European Manufacturer. If you look at the European manufacturers (Nokia, Seimens, etc.) Versus the Asian Manufactuers (LG, Samsung etc.) The vast majority of "Euro" phones are candy bar while the vast majority of "Asian" phones are flip. It is to a large extent cultural. Nokia actualy has flip phones in Korea. Why? Cause Candy bar phones don't saell there..almost at all.

Link I only found one flip phone on Nokia's Asia Pacific site... and it's still "Coming Soon".
